Protagonist Character Synopsis
Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson is the protagonist in The Son of Neptune. He has black hair, sea green eyes, and (being the son of Neptune/Poseidon) can control water. He’s strong enough to survive going down a mountain on a platter, not get killed by the Amazon’s, and defeat Alcyoneus. He can control water (like I said before) such as hurricanes, tidal waves, and explode a glass of water (I never seen him do that, but it’d be cool). Percy’s memory is fuzzy, but he remembers Annabeth, the name of his girlfriend back home. Percy is a pretty believable character, for a kid who has ADHD and dyslexia. However, he is the son of a Greek god, so that’s kind of hard to believe, but for the most part, he’s believable.
Percy is a dynamic character. “ Juno, huh,” he said to the lady he carried to camp. “If I pass your test, can I have my memory and life back?” (28) Percy had to carry June, or Juno, to a Roman camp, Camp Jupiter. “Come on.” Percy says to Frank and Hazel. “Let me introduce you to my other family.” (513) Argo II is coming to camp Jupiter to pick Percy up. Percy has a better memory now, and isn't so concerned about getting it back. Because he drank gorgon's blood (long story) from the right, his memory has been getting better and better. Because he is going to see Annabeth, his thought are more happy then when we woke up at the wolf house.

Antagonist Character Synopsis
Alcyoneus
Alcyones is the antagonist in The son of Neptune. He is made of gold and other precious gems. He was made by Hazel, who is the daughter of Pluto, when she was getting attacked by Gaea, before she died. Which was, 70 years ago and yet she exists today. Long story. Alcyones is not a believable character, he is made from jewels, and is invincible in Alaska, the land outside the gods. He doesn’t have any special ‘powers’ other than the protection from Alaska. Yet he makes his camp about 10 miles from Canada.
Alcyones is a static character, meaning he doesn’t change throughout the book. “I am immortal in my homeland, Frank Zhang! And thanks to your friend Hazel, my new homeland is in Alaska. You cannot kill me here!” (460) Alcyones is telling Frank that, because of Hazel, his new homeland is in Alaska, and he can’t be killed in Alaska. “You-can’t-kill me,” (468) Unfortunately, he set up camp 10 miles away from Canada, so dragging a half-dead golden monster to Canada wasn’t that hard. Frank and Hazel end up killing him before they go and save Percy.
